I've had it keeps one plan and one set of numbers on your account. Each browser you link sends its daily totals every 15 minutes and picks up any change to your plan, so your sites, limits and budget are the same on every computer, and the dashboard and phone app add every device together. Page addresses never leave the device.

A browser is linked when the extension is installed and you're signed in on ivehadit.app in that same browser.

  1. Install the extension in the browser. See install.
  2. In that browser, sign in at ivehadit.app/dashboard with your account.
  3. Open the dashboard once. The site finds the extension and links it. If you went through /start, this already happened at the last step.
  4. Open the extension's popup. It shows "Synced just now" with a green dot and a Sync now button. If it says "Not syncing yet", you're not linked yet.

Repeat this on each computer and each browser. Every one shows up under Your devices on the dashboard, for example "Chrome on Mac".

What syncs, and what doesn't

Syncs to your accountStays on the device
Minutes per supported site, per dayThe addresses of the pages you open
Feeds stopped, quick passes, scroll checksWhat you looked at on those pages
Reaches for a feed by hour of dayAnything on sites the extension doesn't watch
The reasons you typed at the pause screen
Your plan: modes, limits, budget, quick pass length, scroll check, no feeds before noon, your line about what you want more of

Each sync sends the last 30 days of totals. The full list is on the privacy guide.

When does it sync?

  • Every 15 minutes while the browser is open.
  • When the browser starts.
  • Straight after you change a mode in the popup.
  • When you press Sync now in the popup.

How plan changes travel

Your plan goes both ways. Change a mode in the popup and it's sent up. Change your budget on the dashboard or in the phone app and each browser picks it up on its next sync. If two copies differ, the newest one wins. To see a dashboard change on a computer straight away, press Sync now in its popup, then refresh the site's tab.

Numbers are added up across devices

The dashboard and the phone app add the totals from every device on the account. Your daily budget is checked by each browser against its own time, though. If you spend 15 minutes on one computer and 10 on another, the dashboard shows 25, but each browser only knows its own part until the numbers meet on the account. See daily budget and limits.

A paid hour you buy for a site, and your trial or subscription, are stored on the account. Every linked browser picks them up on its next sync. A browser that isn't linked can't see your trial, so it shows "Start your 10 free days" instead of shutting feeds. See pricing and trial.

How to remove a device

On your dashboard, under Your devices, press the bin icon next to it. It stops syncing straight away, and that browser unlinks itself the next time it tries. Its numbers already sent stay on your account.

Questions

Why don't my numbers show up on the dashboard or the phone?

The browser probably isn't linked. Open your dashboard once in the browser that has the extension, while signed in. After that it syncs every 15 minutes, and the popup shows when it last synced.

Do I need to set up my sites again on a new computer?

No. Install the extension, sign in and open the dashboard. The plan on your account is saved into the new browser.

Does it sync between Chrome and Edge on the same computer?

Yes. Each browser is its own device. Link both and they share one plan and one set of numbers.

Does it sync the websites I visit?

No. Only daily totals and your plan reach your account. The addresses of the pages you open never leave the device.
