No feeds before noon keeps the feeds on every watched site shut until 12:00, on your computer's clock. Messages and links people send you still work, so the morning stays yours without cutting you off. It is off by default, and you can switch it on during setup or on your dashboard.

What does No feeds before noon do?

From midnight until noon, every feed page on a site set to No feeds, Ask first or Daily limit shows a wall that says no feeds before noon. That includes:

  • Ask first feeds, which would normally open after a pause.
  • Daily limit feeds, even with minutes left. The site's minutes wait for the afternoon.
  • No feeds feeds, which are shut anyway.

Sites set to Untouched are not affected. At 12:00 everything goes back to its usual mode.

What still works in the morning?

  • Links people send you open with a quick pass.
  • Messages stay open on every site where Messages always open is on.
  • Specific pages you type, like a profile or a video, behave as the site's mode says: a pause and a short window on Ask first and No feeds, and normal use on a Daily limit site, counting toward its minutes.
  • YouTube lessons still get the longer Learn mode windows on an Ask first YouTube.

Only the feeds are held back, which is where an unplanned morning usually goes.

How do I turn it on?

  1. Open your dashboard.
  2. In Tune it, find No feeds before noon and press On.
  3. The setting is saved to your account and reaches every linked browser on the next sync.

You can also switch it on in the second step of setup at /start, next to your daily budget.

Can I still get into a feed before noon?

Yes, the same way as any shut feed. The small link under the button on the wall lets you unlock it for 10 minutes after typing one sentence and waiting 60 seconds. If you hit the same wall a third time in a day, you are also offered a paid hour for that site.

There is no way to switch the noon rule off from the wall itself. That is on purpose: you chose it at a calmer moment, and a half-awake reach for the phone should not undo it in one click. To change it, go to your dashboard.

Why noon?

The first hours of the day are when many people plan to get something done, and a feed opened in bed has a way of becoming the first hour. A fixed time is easier to keep than a budget, because there is nothing to count: before noon, no feeds. If noon does not fit your day, use a small daily budget instead, or both together.

How does it fit with the daily budget?

They are separate. The noon rule shuts feeds by the clock. The budget shuts Ask first sites once the minutes are used. With both on, feeds are shut until noon, and in the afternoon your budget decides. Time you spend on specific pages in the morning still counts toward the budget.

Your computer's local time. Feeds open at 12:00 by your computer's clock.

Does it apply to every site?

It applies to the feeds of every site set to No feeds, Ask first or Daily limit. Untouched sites are left alone.
