I've had it installs from the Chrome Web Store in one click and works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc on a computer. Press Add to Chrome on the install page, then Add extension. It needs no restart, and it opens a welcome page where you set up your plan.

Which browsers does it work in?

Google ChromeYesInstall straight from the Chrome Web Store.
Microsoft EdgeYesThe store first asks you to allow extensions from other stores. Press Allow.
BraveYesInstalls from the Chrome Web Store like Chrome.
ArcYesInstalls from the Chrome Web Store like Chrome.

How to install it from the Chrome Web Store

  1. Open the install page and press Add to Chrome. This takes you to the Chrome Web Store listing.
  2. In the store, press Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
  3. Chrome lists the sites the extension can read. Say yes once. It only ever runs on those sites, plus ivehadit.app.
  4. Optional: click the puzzle piece next to the address bar and pin I've had it, so the popup is one click away.
  5. The extension opens a welcome page. Pick your limit and your sites, or go back to the setup tab if you started at /start. It starts working straight away.

If you began setup on the website first, the setup page keeps checking for the extension and says "Connected" when it finds it. Your plan is saved into the extension at that moment. The steps are in getting started.

Installing in Microsoft Edge

Edge treats the Chrome Web Store as another store. The first time you open the listing, Edge shows a bar asking whether to allow extensions from other stores. Press Allow, then Add to Chrome, then Add extension. Everything after that works the same as in Chrome.

What permissions does it ask for?

The extension asks for three things, and site access for a fixed list of sites.

  • Storage, to keep your plan and daily totals on your computer.
  • Navigation events on the supported sites, so it can tell a link you clicked from an address you typed. That difference decides between a quick pass and the intent gate.
  • Alarms, to sync your daily totals to your account every 15 minutes.
  • Site access to Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, YouTube, TikTok, X and Twitter, Reddit and LinkedIn, plus ivehadit.app so the website can save your plan into it.

It cannot see any other site. The details are on the privacy guide.

Using it in a private or incognito window

Extensions don't run in private windows unless you let them. Open chrome://extensions, press Details under I've had it, and switch on Allow in Incognito. Without that, feeds in a private window are not shut.

Installing by hand when the store is blocked

Some work computers block the Chrome Web Store. In that case:

  1. On the install page, open "Install it by hand instead" and download the zip.
  2. Unzip it.
  3. Open chrome://extensions and switch on Developer mode.
  4. Press Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder.

A copy installed by hand does not update on its own. Check back now and then, or switch to the store version when you can.

After installing

  • Visit instagram.com/reels to check that the feed is shut.
  • Open your dashboard once while signed in, so the extension is linked to your account and starts syncing.
  • If something doesn't look right, see troubleshooting.

Questions

Is I've had it available for Safari or Firefox?

Not yet. Today it works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc on a computer.

Do I need to restart my browser after installing?

No. It works as soon as it is added. Tabs that were already open on a supported site start being handled after you refresh them.

Why does Edge ask me to allow extensions from other stores?

The extension is published on the Chrome Web Store, and Edge asks once before it installs anything from a store other than its own. Press Allow and carry on.

Does installing it on one computer cover my other computers?

Each browser needs its own install. Sign in on each one with the same account and your plan follows you, as explained in sync across devices.
