Every watched site has one of four modes. No feeds keeps the infinite feeds shut, Ask first opens them after a short pause and a reason, Daily limit lets the site work as usual for a set number of minutes a day, and Untouched leaves the site alone. In every mode except Untouched, posts and videos people send you still open, and messages can stay open.

A feed page is the endless part of a site: Instagram's home, Reels and Explore, YouTube's home, Shorts and Trending, TikTok's For You and Following, and so on. Everything else, a single post, a video, a profile, a search, counts as a specific page. The full list per site is in supported sites.

What does No feeds do?

The feed is shut. You see a calm screen that says so, with a button to go back. A link someone sends you opens for 30 seconds, and if you type the address of a specific page yourself you get a short pause and a two-minute window to do the one thing you came for. If you really need the feed, the small link under the button lets you unlock it for 10 minutes.

This is the mode for the sites you open without thinking.

What does Ask first do?

Nothing is shut, but nothing opens on reflex either. Before a feed opens you breathe for 15 seconds, say what you came to do, and pick a 2 or 5 minute window. A specific page you typed gets a shorter pause and a choice of 2, 5 or 15 minutes. On YouTube, videos filed under education get longer windows, see YouTube Learn mode. The pause itself is described in the intent gate.

Once your daily budget is spent, an Ask first site behaves like No feeds until midnight.

What does Daily limit do?

The site works as usual, feeds included, for its own minutes each day. You can set anything from 5 to 90 minutes. A small pill at the bottom of the page shows what is left. When the minutes run out, the feeds shut until midnight, links people send you still open, and a typed address gets the two-minute window.

A Daily limit site runs on its own minutes, so the shared budget does not close it early. Its time still adds to your total for the day.

What does Untouched do?

The extension leaves the site alone: no pauses, no counting, no scroll check. Use it for a site you only use for work, or one that is not a problem for you.

How do I change a site's mode?

  1. Click the I've had it icon in your browser's toolbar.
  2. Pick a new mode from the menu next to the site. A Daily limit shows as its minutes, for example "15 min a day".
  3. Refresh any open tab of that site.

You can also change modes, the number of minutes and the per-site options on your dashboard. Changes made there reach every linked browser on the next sync, see sync across devices.

Questions

Which site mode should I start with?

Start with the defaults. Use No feeds for the sites you open on autopilot, Ask first for sites you sometimes need, and Daily limit for a site you want to keep but in smaller doses.

Does No feeds block the whole site?

No. Only the feed pages are shut. Posts, videos, profiles and searches you are sent or look up still open, and messages stay open if Messages always open is on.

What is the difference between Ask first and Daily limit?

Ask first makes you pause and give a reason each time, and windows are short. Daily limit asks nothing until the site's minutes for the day are used, then shuts the feeds until midnight.

Do I need to refresh the page after changing a mode?

Yes. Refresh any tab of that site that was already open, and the new mode applies.
