# Use I've had it from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor (MCP)

> Connect I've had it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code with its MCP server. Check your screen time, change a site's mode, or ask how to shut a feed.

I've had it has an MCP server at `https://ivehadit.app/mcp`. Add it as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any other MCP client, log in here once, and your assistant can show you your numbers, change your plan when you ask, and answer how-to questions from these guides.

## What can I ask it?

Once it's connected, talk to your assistant the way you would anyway:

- "How much time did I spend on YouTube this week?"
- "Did I do better than last week?"
- "Shut Instagram completely until Friday." (it sets Instagram to No feeds; ask it to change it back later)
- "Give Reddit a 15-minute daily limit."
- "Turn on no feeds before noon."
- "How do I keep my Instagram messages but not Reels?"

The assistant decides when to use the tools. If it doesn't, say "use I've had it" in your message.

## What it can and can't do

| It can | It can't |
|---|---|
| Read your daily totals across every device: minutes per site, feeds stopped, minutes back, quick passes, scroll checks, the reasons you typed | See the pages you visit; those never leave your devices |
| Read and change each site's mode, your daily budget and [no feeds before noon](https://ivehadit.app/docs/no-feeds-before-noon) | See or change payment details |
| List your linked browsers and phones | Delete anything, including your account |
| Search and read every guide on this site | Turn the extension off |

The tools that change your plan are the same changes you can make on the dashboard. See [site modes](https://ivehadit.app/docs/site-modes) and [daily budget and limits](https://ivehadit.app/docs/daily-budget-and-limits) for what each one does.

## How do I connect it?

The address is the same everywhere: `https://ivehadit.app/mcp`. The [connect page](https://ivehadit.app/connect) has one-click buttons for Cursor and VS Code and copyable commands. At the time of writing:

1. **Claude** (web, desktop and phone): Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the address, press Connect, log in to I've had it and allow it.
2. **ChatGPT**: Settings, then Apps & Connectors. Custom connectors may need developer mode, under Advanced. Create one with the address and OAuth sign-in.
3. **Claude Code**: run `claude mcp add --transport http ivehadit https://ivehadit.app/mcp`, then type `/mcp` and pick ivehadit to log in.
4. **Cursor**: add `{"mcpServers": {"ivehadit": {"url": "https://ivehadit.app/mcp"}}}` to `~/.cursor/mcp.json`, or use the button on the connect page.
5. **VS Code**: run `code --add-mcp '{"name":"ivehadit","type":"http","url":"https://ivehadit.app/mcp"}'`, then start the server from the MCP list.

Menus in these apps move around. If a step doesn't match, look for "connectors" or "MCP servers" and add the address.

## What happens when I connect?

Your assistant sends you to this site. You log in as usual, then see a screen that lists exactly what the assistant will be able to do. Press Allow and you're back in the assistant. It gets a token that works only on the MCP server, never your password.

To disconnect, remove the connector in the assistant's settings.

## How fast do changes reach my browser?

A change made through your assistant is saved to your account straight away. Each browser picks it up on its next sync, which happens every 15 minutes, or at once if you press Sync now in the extension's popup. More in [sync across devices](https://ivehadit.app/docs/sync-across-devices).

If your account doesn't have a plan yet, the assistant can't change one. Finish [setting up](https://ivehadit.app/start) first, or open your dashboard once in the browser that has the extension.

## Questions

### Is there an MCP server for screen time or social media blocking?

Yes. I've had it runs a remote MCP server at https://ivehadit.app/mcp. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients that support remote servers with OAuth.

### Can ChatGPT or Claude block Instagram Reels for me?

With I've had it installed and connected, yes. Ask it to set Instagram to No feeds and the Reels, Explore and home feeds shut in your browser on its next sync, while posts and messages keep working.

### Does the assistant see my browsing history?

No. Page addresses never leave your devices. The assistant sees the same daily totals as your dashboard. See [privacy](https://ivehadit.app/docs/privacy).

### Does the MCP server cost extra?

No. It comes with your account. See [pricing](https://ivehadit.app/docs/pricing-and-trial).

### Can the assistant turn my limits off without asking?

It's told to confirm before changing a plan and never to loosen one on its own. Every change it makes is a normal plan change you can see and undo on your dashboard.
