# Keep notifications, search and other parts of a site open

Each watched site has a few parts worth going to on purpose, like Instagram's notifications or Facebook Marketplace. In the extension's popup, each site shows them as chips beside its mode: switch one on and that part opens with no pause, no timer and no counting, while the feed stays shut. Messages work the same way and are on by default. See [messages always open](https://ivehadit.app/docs/messages-always-open).

When a feed is shut, the screen also shows buttons to the parts of that site that are open right now, so you can go straight to what you came for.

## Can I post without seeing the feed?

Yes. Writing a new post is always open, with no pause, on the sites that have a page for it with no feed behind it:

- **X:** `x.com/intent/tweet`, X's own page for writing one post, with no timeline.
- **Reddit:** `reddit.com/submit`.
- **TikTok:** `tiktok.com/upload`.

On those sites a shut feed shows a **Post** button that goes straight there.

## Does opening a part wait?

Yes. Opening a part is looser, so it [waits 24 hours](https://ivehadit.app/docs/changes-wait-a-day) before it applies. Closing one again is stricter and applies at once. If you keep stopping at the same part, the popup may [suggest keeping it open](https://ivehadit.app/docs/suggestions-and-badges).

### Do open parts count toward my daily budget?

No. A part you keep open is not counted, like messages.
